The recently opened St Matthews Piggly Wiggly is owned by Gary Jones, former owner of Jones Country Market here in St Matthews, SC. Prior to opening his meat market, Mr. Jones operated this same grocery store back when it was owned by Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company years ago and also operated the Bi-Lo that stood here when it was bought by Southeastern Grocers. You can see the lettering for Jones Country Market hanging above the meat department in the back of the store to honor the journey that brought him here.
Mr. Jones is a firm believer in family and community and wants every shopper to feel at home in his store. If ever you feel something is out of place, he wants to hear about it and make it right. That is, after all, the Pig way.
The Piggly Wiggly has a popular deli open daily for breakfast and lunch, a popular bakery, and a well-stocked meat department.
