Event Details

“Noel, Night of Everlasting Love” to be presented as this year’s Cameron
Community Christmas Cantata on Sunday, December 4

The Cameron Community Christmas Cantata will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 8160 Old State Road, in Cameron.

The performances will be at 5:00 and 7:30pm. A reception will be held between the two performances in the fellowship hall at the church.

This year’s production is entitled “Noel, Night of Everlasting Love” and is created and arranged by Derric Johnson. “The cantata’s compelling collection of timeless Christmas classics simply tells the amazing story of Jesus’ birth with a beautiful blend of tenderness, majesty, and exuberant energy. Threaded together with Scripture, the lush arrangements of traditional songs and carols capture the awe and wonder inherent in the coming of a holy Savior into a sinful world to redeem mankind.”

The selection of carols includes O Come, All Ye Faithful; Away In a Manger; O Holy Night!; Angels, from the Realms of Glory; What Child is This?; Do You Hear What I Hear?; Silent Night! Holy Night!; Joy to the World! and concludes with Handel’s ever-popular Hallelujah Chorus.

The cantata is directed by Mrs. Mary Ann Stone. Accompanists are:
Mr. Capers B. Bull, Jr., organ,
Mrs. Cheryl Smith, piano,
Mr. Mickey Weeks, percussion.

There will be prelude of Christmas music prior to each performance. Please make this year’s cantata a part of your holiday activities.

The cantata is sponsored in part by the Calhoun County Museum and the C. Frederic Ulmer Memorial Fund. It is being presented in memory of Mr. C. Frederic Ulmer, a very gifted musician from Cameron.

Any questions may be directed to Resurrection Lutheran Church at 823-2915.
